Frage: Herr Reznicek, wie sollte man einen wissenschaftlichen Vortrag zum Thema Ornithologie heutzutage gestalten, damit er das Interesse des nichtfachlichen Publikums weckt?

Antwort: Das lässt sich gar nicht so universell beantworten. Im Fall der Auerhühner darf ein Vortrag aber sicher staubtrocken sein, leben die scheuen und seltenen Raufüße doch in den feuchtmoosigen und kühlen Tiefen der Bergwälder. Das sollte eine gelungene Mischung ergeben. Zudem gibt es ja auch noch Musik als Bindemittel.

Günter Reznicek ist ein in Hamburg lebender Musiker, Performance Künstler und Hörspielmacher. Mit seinem Solo Projekt Nova Huta war er seit Anfang des 3. Jahrtausends weltweit unterwegs. Seit etwa 10 Jahren produziert er vermehrt für Radio und Theater. Daneben ist er in den letzten Jahren immer stärker zu seinem Hobby aus Jugendtagen, der Ornithologie, zurückgekehrt und streift inzwischen am liebsten durch die Natur.
2022 hat er Beruf und Neigung in seinem 22 stündigen Hörspiel „Das Gelbe vom Pirol“ verbinden können, welches im Rahmen eines 100 tägigen luxemburgischen Radioprojekts von Radio Art Zone ausgestrahlt wurde.

Question: Mr Reznicek, how should a scientific lecture on the subject of ornithology be structured nowadays so that it arouses the interest of the non-specialist audience?

Answer: There is no universal answer to this question. In the case of the capercaillie, however, a lecture can certainly be dry as dust, since the shy and rare grouse live in the damp mossy and cool depths of the mountain forests. That should make for a successful mixture. Besides, there is also music as a binding agent.

Günter Reznicek is a musician, performance artist and radio play producer living in Hamburg. He has been touring worldwide with his solo project Nova Huta since the beginning of the 3rd millennium. For about 10 years he has increasingly been producing for radio and theatre. In addition, in recent years he has increasingly returned to his hobby from his youth, ornithology, and now prefers to roam through nature.
In 2022, he was able to combine his profession and inclination in his 22-hour radio play "Das Gelbe vom Pirol" (The Yellow of the Oriole), which was broadcast as part of a 100-day Luxembourg radio project by Radio Art Zone.
