Das von Starenvögel inspirierte Radiohörspiel "Wissen im Zirkel" beschäftigt sich mit der Abwanderung von Arbeitskräften und Wissen und der Migration in entgegengesetzte Richtung, zurück in die Abwanderungsländer in Südeuropa. Im Rahmen eines mehrmonatigen Bulgarien Stipendiums wurden Rückkehrer*innen interviewt, die sich bewusst dafür entschieden haben, ihr Leben in Bulgarien neu aufzubauen. Basierend auf den Interviews wurde ein 45-minütiges Hörstück entwickelt, das sich mit Ungleichgewichten und möglichen Formen des Wissensaustausches beschäftigt. Dabei spielen Starenvögel und die Vogelstimmenimitation eine entscheidende Rolle. Vögel, Menschen und Algorithmen probieren durch wechselseitige Nachahmung eine andere Form des Wissensaustauschs. Im Hörstück kommen Stare vor, die Handy-Klingeltöne imitieren, Menschen die Vögel nachahmen und eine Gesangs-KI die ein Kinderlied singt.

Alexander Tuchaček (*1962 in Wien) arbeitet mit Ton, natürlicher Sprache, Stimmen, Computercodes und Text. Er erzeugt mit Installationen und Performances Möglichkeitsräume und uneindeutige Konfigurationen menschlicher Interaktionen. Er studierte elektroakustische Musik an der Hochschule für darstellende Künste Wien und Medienkunst an der Kunsthochschule für Medien Köln. 1991 gründete er die Künstler-Gruppe knowbotic research (krcf) und gewann zweimal den Prix Arts Electronica in Linz. 1999 gestaltete er den österreichischen Pavillon an der Biennale Venedig und ist mit seiner künstlerischen Tätigkeit international präsent. Seit 2000 unterrichtet er in Zürich an der ZHdK, erst im Bereich Neue Medien, dann in der Bildenden Kunst.

The radio play "Wissen im Zirkel", inspired by starlings, deals with the emigration of labour and knowledge and migration in the opposite direction, back to the countries of emigration in Southern Europe. As part of a Bulgaria scholarship lasting several months, returnees who have made a conscious decision to rebuild their lives in Bulgaria were interviewed. Based on the interviews, a 45-minute audio play was developed that deals with imbalances and possible forms of knowledge exchange. Starlings and the imitation of bird calls play a decisive role in this. Mutual imitation is proposed as a form of knowledge exchange on both an auditory and content level. Finally, starlings learn to sing mobile phone ringtones, humans imitate birds and a singing AI sings a children's song.

Alexander Tuchaček (*1962 in Vienna) works with sound, natural language, voices, computer codes and text. His installations and performances create spaces of possibility and ambiguous configurations of human interactions. He studied electro-acoustic music at the University of Performing Arts Vienna and media art at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne. In 1991 he founded the artist group knowbotic research (krcf) and twice won the Prix Arts Electronica in Linz. In 1999, he designed the Austrian pavilion at the Venice Biennale and has an international presence with his artistic work. He has been teaching at the ZHdK in Zurich since 2000, first in the field of new media and then in fine arts.
